FEBRUARY 2015

Dear Subscribers,

A warm welcome to all. News with the writing assistants is that pug Uli now has his own assistant, (or maybe it's the other way around): Washi. Here she is modeling her winter sweater. We're in high-altitude Mexico City and although it starts warming up around this time of year, we still cope with some chilly mornings.

In this newsletter: upcoming events in Mexico City and Bethesda MD (just outside Washington DC); mega-updates on the Resources for Writers Page, including an all-new index for the ever-popular Giant Golden Buddha & 364 More 5 Minute Exercises; new podcasts; and the best from ye olde blog, "Madam Mayo."

NEW PRAISE FOR
METAPHYSICAL ODYSSEY INTO THE MEXICAN REVOLUTION
.
"C.M. Mayo offers another dazzling work in her own fluid, poetic and highly visual prose... By the time I finished I wished for a Don Francisco Madero to guide us today, a politican who is also a mystic and intellect.
Sophy Burnham, author of A Book of Angels

"Metaphysical Odyssey into the Mexican Revolution paints a complex picture of a curious crossroads in history, where the rise and fall of a regime coincided with a spiritual and social awakening with the potential to rewrite a country's future. Kudos to Mayo for introducing us to both the man and his message."
San Francisco Book Review

"Mayo... provides not only an English translation of Madero's Spiritist Manual, but also a lively intoduction... The author argues effectively that Madero's manual is essential to understanding his revolutionary zeal."

The "Marfa Mondays" podcasting project continues, with 6 of a projected 24 posted to date. Stay tuned for more very soon...

The latest podcast, an interview with artist /photographer Paul Chaplo about his magnificent book, Marfa Flights, was announced in my previous newsletter. This month there is no podcast because I've been working on the book itself. The working title is World Waiting for a Dream: A Turn in Far West Texas.
